How to Embed Video in Email

One of the most requested features of any email client is the ability to embed video directly into the email's body. As available download speeds increase and video software becomes more sophisticated and accessible, digital videos have become employed on a huge scale. Videos can be used for everything from sharing a home movie to creating a presentation for a client or colleague. However, there is currently no direct support for embedding videos into email bodies; learning how to effectively embed video in email is rather a question of learning how to smoothly integrate a video link.

 STEP
  1. Navigate to the location where the video is hosted. Your video needs to be hosted online to be embedded in the email. Begin by navigating to its web page on YouTube or another video-hosting site.
  2. Take a screenshot of the video. While on the video's web page, use the "Print Screen" button to take a screenshot of the video. You can move the play marker to make sure the video is paused during an attractive screenshot. Open this screenshot in any image editing program to crop it to size. Make sure to leave the video player controls visible in the picture.
  3. Position a "play" button onto the screenshot. Using an Internet image search, find an image of a "play" button. Save this image onto your computer, and then load it into the image editing program with the screenshot file open. Position the "play" button over the center of the screenshot, adjusting its transparency (alpha channel) if desired. Save the image.
  4. Place the image into your email body. After writing your email, use your email client's "insert image" tool to place the screenshot with the play button into your email.
  5. Link the image to your video's location on the Internet. After inserting the image, make it into a hyperlink that takes the user to the video's web page. You can do this with your email client's "hyperlink" tool, or you can code the hyperlink manually using HTML.
  6. Send the email. After creating the linked image, you can send the email. Your user will see the video screenshot with the "play" button, indicating that the video can be viewed by clicking the button. After clicking, the user will be quickly taken to the video's web page to watch it.

How to Add a Song to Your Blog

The music website will provide an embed code that needs to be added within the hypertext markup language (HTML) of the page in which you want the song to appear. These websites allow the song to appear inside an online music player so people can listen to the song without leaving your blog

  8. Press the "Save (get code)" button.
  9. Copy the embed code and paste it within the HTML of your blog where you want it to appear.
    • If you use a blogging service such as Blogger or WordPress you will have to go to the page where you can edit HTML.

    Tips
    • Make sure you save the changes that you make to the HTML after you add a song to your blog. You should view the blog to check that the song is playing correctly and that the online music player that you selected on the music website is appearing the way you want it to.
    • If you use a blogging service you may be able to add embed codes and other HTML content using widgets such as the "Add HTML" widget on Blogger and the Text Widget on Wordpress. These widgets will appear as elements of your blog design.

How to Chat in Gmail

Chatting in Gmail is easy and fun. Confused on what you're supposed to do? Here's how to do it in a few simple steps.

 Steps

  1. 1
See whether your friend is online. This is indicated by a green dot (yellow if they're sort of busy, red if they want you to bug off already, and if they're offline, they're either really offline or invisible) or a green robot if you have the Android Lab feature installed. 2
  2. Then, click on their name on the chat list. Sometimes people hide their chat list, so it could be anywhere in your layout. Just look for a box named "Chat".
  3. 3
Type in anything you want to say. A nice "Yo!" or "Sup!" or "Hey there!" will start off your conversation. Don't talk about the weather. That's tacky.
  4. 4
Keep on chatting or do something else. To turn yourself invisible if someone is bugging you, click on your profile and then click "Invisible". This means that you appear offline when you're really not.
  5. 5
    Enjoy your chat.
