How to Download Free Music

Music Downloading Websites

Visit the following websites to search for the songs that you want to download. You can usually browse for the song or artist using the menu bars or type the name of the song or artist in the search bar to search more specifically. After you find the song, you will see a download button next to it and pressing this button will allow you to download and save the song file on your computer.
  • Amazon: Most items on the Amazon website require purchasing, however there are many free downloads available. First, you have to select "MP3 Downloads" from the drop-down menu in the search bar at the top of the Amazon homepage. You can then press the "Get MP3" button next to the songs marked "Free!" to download them.
  • MP3.com: Specializing in providing downloads in MP3 format, MP3.com has a large library of songs with new songs added frequently so you can find the latest tracks. The songs are sorted by music genres such as Jazz, Folk, Classical and Rock.
  • Purevolume: 1 great feature of the Purevolume website is that it allows you to listen to songs before you download them. You can click on the play button next to the song name to listen to the song. If you like the song you can click the "Free .MP3" link next to it to download the song for free (many songs have this link available, but some songs have a different link to indicate that they require purchasing).
  • Stereogum: Stereogum is not only a website where people can download free music but also discuss their opinions. You can make comments, read news, listen to playlists, watch videos and look at photos of musicians. If there is a "Download" link under the name of the song that you like then you can click it to download the song.
